The Drama Mill are based in East Linton. They have 1 group taking part in Season 3 of Positive Stories for Negative Times and are excited to be part of a festival which celebrates new writing and gives our young people the opportunity to be part of a bigger youth theatre community.

The opportunity to perform in a professional theatre would be such a thrill for our participants. We have taken part in NT Connections but have noticed recently that there were not many Scottish playwrights represented. We have loved being part of your previous projects and are really looking forward to reading the plays. They will be working towards creating a Full stage production of The Day the Stampers United.

We are a theatre arts company who provide drama workshops to children in towns and villages in the East Coast. From small beginnings 8 students in Aberlady we now have 460 young people taking part in our weekly classes. We have three separate schools, The Drama Mill, The Mill Youth Theatre and The Musical Mill. We have really close ties to schools in East Lothian and deliver workshops in schools and take part in community projects within the community. We are a small team with a big heart who provide inclusive, creative and fun workshops for young people.

FADS are based in 16 The Meadows, Kippen. They have 1 group taking part in Season 3 of Positive Stories for Negative Times and are excited to be involved because uur return to a full pantomime production in November/ December, as well as our success in the SCDA One-Act Play Festival, made 2022 an exciting year for FADS as we emerged from a quieter time during the pandemic.

With many new youth members on board, we’re seeking more opportunities for them to participate in workshops and performances throughout the year. We also have a skills shortage in many technical and production roles in the club. This will be my first attempt at directing! They will be working towards creating a Full stage production of The Day the Stampers United. More about FADS (Fintry Amateur Dramatic Society) is based in the village of Fintry, in Stirlingshire.

With around 70 enthusiastic adult and youth members from Fintry and the surrounding area, the Club is a great mix of ages and experience. Our audiences have grown to expect a high standard of performance, with attention to detail in set design, costumes, make-up, lighting and sound all contributing to the quality of our productions.

We aim to stage something in Fintry each spring and autumn and work to have an entry in the annual SCDA One-Act Play competition – plus a rip-roaring pantomime at the end of every year.

Toonspeak are based in Barmulloch Residents Centre, Glasgow. They have 3 groups taking part in season 3 of Positive Stories for Negative Times and are excited to be involved because Toonspeak‘s groups have not had many opportunities to perform since the start of 2020, so this will be a wonderful chance for our older groups to do so!. They will be working towards creating a Full stage production of The Day the Stampers United. Spotlight Youth Theatre are based inCape Town. They have 2 groups taking part in season 3 of Positive Stories for Negative Times and are excited to be involved because Took part in 2022 and loved the scripts, the challenge and contact.
