Opera North Children’s Chorus

Opera North are based in Howard Opera Centre, Leeds. They have 1 group taking part in season 3 of Positive Stories for Negative Times and are excited to be involved because the chance for young people to read plays written for them and open their minds to the possible of the stories that can be explored through performance. They will be exploring Are You A Robot?

We support young people to explore their own creativity by gaining practical experience across a broad range of artforms – music, singing, instrumental, drama, direction, design and technical skills.

The Opera North Youth Company is the junior performing wing of Opera North and provides vocal and drama training for young people aged 8-19.

The Company meets weekly during school term time to take part in an exciting programme of performances and projects. It provides training in singing and stagecraft, delivered by a team of vocal and drama specialists.

Rehearsals take place at the Howard Opera Centre in Leeds, putting young people right at the heart of a busy Opera Company. Members are given unparalleled opportunities to attend rehearsals and performances, as well as gain an understanding of the full range of skills that make up an opera behind the scenes.

The Youth Company perform regularly with the Orchestra and Chorus of Opera North and are invited to audition for roles in main stage productions.

Perth Autism Support – PAS Youth Theatre

Perth Autism Support are based in Perth. They have 2 groups taking part in season 3 of Positive Stories for Negative Times and are excited to be involved because we have very talented young people that attend our sessions who would benefit from further learning of drama and theatre skills. We have been running a youth theatre group for many years now and it is something our young people are greatly driven by..They will be working towards creating a Full stage production of Are You A Robot? 

Perth Autism Support is registered to provide a care service to a maximum of 20 children and young people between the ages of 3 up to 19 years.

We support children and young people both have a diagnosis of autism and those who are on the pathway for assessment.

Our support is provided on either a one to one or group basis, depending on the needs of each individual young person.

We offer a broad range of holiday, after school and weekend activities to support children and young people in developing skills, confidence and peer friendships in a fun, engaging environment.

Elms Ensemble

Elms Ensemble (Elms Studio) are based in Northampton. They have 1 groups taking part in season 3 of Positive Stories for Negative Times and are excited to be involved because Elms Ensemble have really enjoyed being part of Positive Stories for Negative Times and Season 1 gave the students the opportunity to be part of a production even when they were stuck at home due to the pandemic which both they and their families really appreciated. They will be working towards creating a Recorded extracts of Are You A Robot? Elms Studio is a small independent studio that offers bespoke individual and small group lessons to students of all ages and is based in Northampton in the East Midlands. Elms Ensemble is our group offering that is free for all our students to take part so they can share their passion for the Performing Arts with each other.

ZigZag Theatre – Holiday Workshop

ZigZag Theatre are based in Bundall. They have 5 groups taking part in season 3 of Positive Stories for Negative Times and are excited to be involved because We took part last year and had so much fun.  They will be working towards creating a Full stage production of The Day the Stampers United. More about ZigZag Theatre are a youth theatre company based on the Gold Coast, Australia. We facilitate weekly drama and musical theatre classes for ages 3 up to 18.

American Space Valencia

American Space Valencia – UPV are based in UPV Campus de Vera (4P- American Space Valencia) Camino de Vera s/n, Valencia. They have 1 groups taking part in season 3 of Positive Stories for Negative Times and are excited to be involved because we have an amazing volunteer who would like to lead the ASV teen drama club. We saw the information about the positive stories, and want to explore the possibility of using this material. They will be working towards creating a Full stage production of Are You A Robot?. More about ASV is a collaboration between the U.S. Embassy in Madrid and the Universitat Politècnica de València. The ASV offers programming that covers five major areas: English language teaching and learning, educational orientation for students interested in studying in the U.S., cultural programs, Alumni programs, and information about the United States. We are creating a teen drama club this semester and would love to use the “Are you a robot?” play with our teen participants.

Royal Lyceum Theatre Youth Theatre

Royal Lyceum Theatre (LYT) are based in Edinburgh. They have 2 groups taking part in season 3 of Positive Stories for Negative Times and are excited to be involved because our younger groups have not had a project in a few years, most plays written are for older (14+) and Positive Stories for Negative Times seems to cater for a wider range of young people. We are really passionate about working with new writing and introducing young people to new writers. Tim Crouch brought a show to the Lyceum this year and as a creative learning team we are interested in the work he creates for community groups and young people. We have an exciting idea that we can maybe gave 2 groups performing the same play. Both our 8-10 groups are very mature and used to making theatre so we want to challenge them with something.. They will be working towards creating a Full stage production of Are You A Robot?. More about We are a building based youth theatre youth theatre with 10 weekly classes. We have 1 x age 5 to 7 group, 2 x age 8 to 10 groups, 3 x age 11-13 groups and 14-18 groups. We also run a young company for ages 16-21.

International School of Milan

International School of Milan are based in Via 1 maggio 20, Baranzate, MI. They have 1 group taking part in season 3 of Positive Stories for Negative Times and are excited to be involved because We are excited about working on an international theatre project that is so positive.. They will be working towards creating a Full stage production of Are You A Robot?. More about We are an international school in Milan Italy. Our students come from many different countries and most speak English as their second or third language.
